Chapter 13 allows you to immediately receive the benefit of the automatic stay, which prohibits your creditors from making phone calls, sending letters or taking legal action to recover debts. In exchange for the protections of the bankruptcy law, you agree to repay your creditors over a 3 to 5 year period.
When you hire us to help you get a fresh start under Chapter 13, we will file all the necessary applications to initiate your bankruptcy proceeding, as well as any additional documents required by the bankruptcy court. We will also represent you in all meetings with creditors or the bankruptcy trustee, and in all proceedings in the bankruptcy court.
